About Me

A fifth-generation Californian, Susan Hart Snyder lives with her husband in California’s gold country in the home in which they raised their two sons. She ended up on the edge of the Central Valley in the foothills of the Sierras after spending her youth in two very different valleys – San Fernando and Silicon.

Susan received her B.A. in English and K-8 Teaching Credential from San Jose State University, and M.A. in Writing and Secondary Teaching Credential from Sacramento State University. She taught high school literature and composition as well as elementary school.

She has never strayed far from her writing life, publishing personal and motivational essays, feature, and travel articles over the years. She is in the process of writing her second novel, which will be published later this year.

  1. Dear Susan, I’ve enjoyed knowing you as an avid book club member. Your insights into the printed page are often strident but always with fairness. I like the way you take irony and analyze all the strands. I will keep on reading your blog. I look forward to it. Lynn

    • Thanks for supporting my blog, Lynn. I always appreciate your thoughtful insights at book club. The breadth and depth of your reading is impressive. We are fortunate to have you as a member.
      Susan

  2. Thanks for sending me your link! I LOVED the article! Yep, you’re funny, and you’ll have to do it again, so get your thinking cap on!
Can’t believe you’re approaching 60; nor can I believe that you’ve been married 36 years — you don’t EVEN look 36!! (You must have made that up for your article!) :-)
It was great to see you at the GNW Family Reunion – we had so much fun! We’re still in HMB and heading back to Auckland on Saturday for more of that cold New Zealand winter … brrrr!
    Love and hugs,
    Linda

  3. Finally – a blog I really, really like! I’ve been laughing (and thinking) my way through your posts instead of rolling me eyes and clicking out.
